Do you want to be part of Sweden's development in electromobility and become world-leading in battery safety?

About us At RISE, we work with safety-related research and testing for the batteries of the future; an area that continues to grow significantly, and so do we! The Fire and Safety department is therefore looking for an employee who, through testing work, wants to help ensure that batteries and other energy storage devices are safe from a fire and safety perspective.

You will be part of the “Safety-Critical Battery Testing” group with five employees belonging to the “Fire-Safe Transport” unit. Your team consists of project managers/engineers who, together with technicians, work on abuse testing (thermal, mechanical, and electrical interference) on behalf of manufacturers of vehicles, drivetrains, and batteries. At the interface between industry, academia, and authorities, RISE creates a creative environment with many exciting and often international projects. The work is conducted in our new Battery Safety Lab in Borås.

About the role We are looking for a driven engineer for testing assignments within the fire and safety area with a specialization in batteries. Your main areas of work include:

• customer contact and quotation writing

• test planning and measurement-related questions

• experimental execution with the help of technicians

• testing reporting and analysis of measurement data

• development of test beds and methods

In everything we do, we work professionally and scientifically, and there are great opportunities for skills development and further education.

Who are you? You are a qualified engineer in a relevant field such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, energy technology, or equivalent. Furthermore, you have several years of work experience in testing and measurement as well as good experience in project management. Several years of work experience related to battery systems in vehicles with associated control systems and CAN communication is a requirement.

To be successful in the role, it is essential that you contribute to our cultural guiding principles: trust, curiosity, collaboration, and value creation. This means that you are responsible and driven, but also that you have social skills, an interest in other people, and enjoy developing yourself and sharing with others. You can think critically and enjoy working in a structured and analytical way. You have the courage to think outside the box and are flexible and positive about finding new solutions to problems. You have good communication skills and enjoy developing and creating relationships, both internally and with customers. You do not need to have Swedish as your native language, but good spoken and written proficiency is necessary for workplace safety reasons. We have extensive international exchanges in our projects and write most of our documents in English, which is why it is important that you master English in both speech and writing.

At RISE, we are convinced that diversity contributes to an innovative environment where we together challenge boundaries and develop new knowledge and skills for the future. At RISE, you will, together with engaged and competent colleagues, contribute to a sustainable future!

Welcome with your application! If this sounds exciting and you want to know more, please contact Michael Rahm, unit manager Fire-Safe Transport, +46 10 516 55 09. The application deadline is February 4, 2026, but interviews may take place continuously during the application period, and the position may be filled before the application deadline. We wish for the position to be filled as soon as possible.

Our union representatives are: Linda Ikatti, Unionen, +46 10 516 51 61 and Ingemar Petermann, SACO, +46 10 228 41 22.
